Five perfect wedding present ideas
How many weddings have you been invited to this year? Plenty of us will be off to witness the nuptials of someone we know in the next few months, and no doubt it will be a special day for the friends and family of the happy couple.
However, you may feel that you should attend with a gift for the pair in your hand. So what can you do? If the newlyweds have been together for a while, they may have everything they need – this can make things tricky for you. Here are some ideas for what you can buy if you are looking for gift inspiration that will be cherished for years to come.
A luxury hotel room
Help the couple to start their marriage right by giving them a luxury hotel room for their first night together. You might want to check with someone first - such as the maid of honour or a parent - to see if reservations have already been made. However, you can give your gift early and the couple can include it in their plans.
If they’ve already made arrangements, there are other things you can do instead. You could arrange with their hotel to give them a massage or spa treatment.
Personalised gifts
These will always be admired and will be cherished by the pair in the future. There are plenty of options, including an individualised art print, travel tags, chopping board, monogrammed drinks glasses and ice buckets, but one of the best gifts could be a means of remembering their wedding day. A wedding album from Heritage Photo Albums, for example, allows the pair to add in their pictures from their special day!
Money
It could be seen that money is uncreative or impersonal, but many couples will be saving up for something big. It could be a car, a house, or even a special piece of furniture.
Money can also give the newlyweds the opportunity to have an extra-special honeymoon or get more photos of the day. If you want to get a personal wedding gift too, you could combine them: so you could add a cheque to a kitchen gadget they want.
A honeymoon experience
If for example, the couple will visit Greece for your honeymoon in 2022, and you’ve been there before, you could offer them a gift certificate for your favourite restaurant at the resort. You could even think about upgrading their travel arrangements (e.g., first-class seats for their flight), or offer extra spending money.
If the couple love to go on adventures, there are other options you could consider. Think of getting a day trip with a local guide, for instance, or a day snorkelling in the sea.
Something useful, practical - and beautiful
If you want to support independent designers, there are plenty around with items from whom you can choose. It might be that you’ve seen a dish that’s hand-thrown pottery with a beautiful glaze on it.
Think about something that’s original and functional, too, as these will be appreciated. For instance, you could think about getting salad tossers with handmade handles to gift to the happy couple.
