Budding performers got their chance to shine last week as auditions for the upcoming community project, The Day We Played Brazil, continued in venues across Exeter.

Beginning at Exeter Northcott Theatre and also stopping at Exeter City’s St James’ Park and the University of Exeter Streatham Campus, singers, dancers and actors took part in the relaxed workshop-auditions which involved playing drama games, singing, and acting parts of the script in large groups.

One auditionee at St James’ Park said “There was a bit of script work, some great warm –ups and some movement, quite a variety of things to do. It was just great fun; they made us feel really relaxed and confident.”

Another auditionee at St James’ Park said “I liked the singing and the script work. I enjoyed every minute, it was really exciting. I’m glad I came.”

For anyone interested in being part of the project, the next audition is on Saturday 1st of March at 10am, with an under 16’s audition on the same day at 2pm. No stage experience is necessary to take part, nor do participants have to be football fanatics; all that is needed is enthusiasm.
