Princesshay has announced a free community event to celebrate the arrival of spring in the city. The Hello Spring event on Friday 6th April will feature spectacular street entertainment, a vintage carousel, live music and a style and beauty area.

The event, which runs from 11-3pm, will see a large interactive art installation, Pentagon, go up in the main square. The installation, a stunning free-standing pentagon, is covered in attention-grabbing hand drawn cartoons. Children and adults can get involved with paint pens, to create a huge (5 metre long by 2 metre tall) piece of community artwork.

Rainbow stilt walkers will be entertaining visitors and a vintage carousel will offer a touch of nostalgia while raising money for charity. Families can capture a memory in the photo booth and enjoy live music through the day from talented local artists.

Princesshay’s Hannah Overton said: “The arrival of spring is one of those very special times of year when everything comes to life. We wanted to celebrate this and give Exeter residents a family day out during the Easter holidays. We’ll also be using the event to raise funds for our charity of the year, FORCE Cancer Charity.”

Those looking for some new-season style inspiration can head to the style and beauty area, meet professional stylist Chantelle Znideric and see her spring capsule wardrobe picks. A beauty lounge will offer free makeovers, samples and mini treatments. On-the-day competitions will offer chances to win gift cards.

The Hello Spring event runs from 11-3pm on Friday 6th April - Princesshay, Exeter.
