Blaze at Tiverton Bowling Club

Firefighters were called to a fire at Tiverton Bowling Club yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

Two fire engines attended the club's pavilion in Wellbrook Street at around 2.45pm.

Upon arrival crews requested a further appliance from Bampton.

The fire involved a dishwasher which was completely destroyed. The bar was 20 per cent damaged by fire and there was 30% smoke damage to the bar area.

Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one covering jet, one safety jet and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze.
