A380 closed following fatal collision

Police are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision on the A380 Torquay Road.

Police were called at around 1.30am today Sunday 26th July to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian on the A380 Torquay Road near to its junction with Aller Brake Road.

On arrival officers found a male pedestrian having sustained fatal injuries, after being involved in a collision with a vehicle which has failed to stop.

At this time the man, believed to be aged in his 30’s has not been identified but officers are carrying out extensive enquires to do so.

Just prior to the incident police had received reports of a man walking in the road, from the direction of Penn Inn roundabout.

The road is closed in both directions whilst officers from the force’s serious collision investigation unit carryout an investigation at the scene.

The road is expected to remain closed for a few hours and diversions are in place.

Police are appealing from information from the public, and in particular from anyone who was in the area at the time, and either witnessed the collision or saw the man prior to it.
