The new season continues at a gallop at Exeter Racecourse next Tuesday with the chance to win a share in a racehorse trained by  Victor Dartnall for all pre-booked tickets

“It’s a great initiative and I am delighted to be involved. It will give the winner a taste of racehorse ownership, with the chance to go into the paddock and come racing every time the horse wins,” said Dartnall.

Exeter’s second October meeting is renowned for attracting a plethora of stars and recent previous runners include Grade One winning Melodic Rendezvous, Rocky Creek and Harry Topper and the recent rainfall will have done the course the world of good following the long recent dry spell.

Clerk of the course Barry Jonson said: “The rain has come just in time and the going should be near perfect. After such a long dry spell, it’s an exciting time of year with all the really good horses set to start running and we’re expecting a really decent card next week.”

The feature race on the card is the Your Favourite Pool Bets At totepool.com Beginners´ Chase and the equivalent race launched the chasing career of three times Gold Cup winner Best Mate in 2000. The three-times Cheltenham Gold Cup winner won over £1m in prize money in total.

The Blackdown Buildings Amateur Riders’ Novices’ Hurdle (2.10pm) over two miles seven furlongs gets the first of seven races underway at 2.10pmAlso on the card is RGB Building Supplies Novices’ Hurdle run over two miles one furlong.

The handicaps are always hotly contested, with three on the card -the totepool Mobile Best Mate Handicap Chase run over three miles, the Avalon Surfacing Handicap Hurdle and the Genting Casino Torquay Handicap Chase, both over two miles three furlongs.

The Racing UK Anywhere "Junior" Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race concludes the card at 5.10pm.

Racecourse tours and tipsters talks with racing pundit Luke Harvey are available with raceday packages and there’s a free raceday bus service which leaves Exeter St David’s at 12.30pm and Exeter Bus & Coach Station at 12.45pm returning half an hour after the last race.
