Devonshire Homes raises over £7,000 for Children’s Hospice South West at inaugural Golf Day
Local independent house builder Devonshire Homes has raised an incredible £7,295.67 for its charity partner, Children’s Hospice South West.
Devonshire Homes welcomed over 120 guests from across the housing and construction sector to its first Charity Golf Day at Downes Crediton Golf Club. Teams of four enjoyed a day on the greens which included 18-holes and a variety of competitions such as the longest drive, challenge the Pro and closest to the pin. The Devonshire Homes team came out on top, winning the prestigious Devonshire Homes Annual Charity Golf Day Trophy.
The day was followed by an evening auction and raffle which raised even more funds for Children’s Hospice South West, a charity that provides hospice care for children with life-limiting conditions and support for their families.
Items in the auction included a framed original piece of artwork created by the children at the hospice that reached £400.

Devonshire Homes’ continued support contributes to the vital work we do here at the hospice, from providing specialist palliative care and respite for the whole family to offering a sibling service for brothers and sisters.”

We were overwhelmed with just how many people wanted to participate and show their support and as a result, we raised over £7,000 for our charity partner, Children’s Hospice South West.”

Devonshire Homes raises funds throughout the year for Children’s Hospice South West by participating in activities including skydiving, cycle challenges, fun runs and coffee mornings. Devonshire Homes also donates £50 to the children’s charity for every open-market sale and this year, they have pledged £1,000 to sponsor Lorraine Langmead, a Barnstaple-based Paediatric Nurse.
