Lympstone Manor, the acclaimed luxury country house hotel on the banks of the Exe Estuary in East Devon, has once again been awarded 5 AA Rosettes for the fourth consecutive year.

The AA first started rating restaurants in 1955 and ever since has remained one of the most well respected and comprensive guides in the UK.

The AA describes its highest award as “The pinnacle, where cooking compares with the best in the world. These restaurants have highly individual voices, exhibit breathtaking culinary skills, and set standards to which others aspire, yet few achieve.”

Currently there are just 16 restaurants in all of the UK that have achieved 5 AA Rosettes and Lympstone Manor is the only 5 Rosette in Devon.

In addition to earning 5 Rosettes, Lympstone Manor was recommended for its wines and was also a Food Service of the Year Finalist.

This accolade is therefore a major achievement of which chef-patron Michael Caines is immensely proud.  He said: “The AA was the first nationwide organisation to hand out awards in recognition of the quality of food and the quality of service in the UK.

"For more than 75 years they have consistently been independent and objective standard bearers who have helped diners to find and enjoy the best restaurants in the country, at all levels.

"I am absolutely delighted to achieve the highest accolade, 5 AA Rosettes, for the fourth year in a row. It is a recognition of not just hard work of my entire team but also a recognition of our consistency as well as creativity.

"I congratulate all AA Rosette holders, whether 1 Rosette or 5. It is an important industry achievement that we celebrate.”
