LED are excited to be opening the doors to its simply spectacular new gym at Exmouth Leisure Centre on today (Monday 18 May 2015).   Perfectly timed to help you feel great this summer!

In addition, two of the five fabulous new studios will also be unveiled – with stunning estuary views and a state of the art air conditioning system - users will be able to give it their all in class favourites Studio Cycling, BodyPump and HITT.

Having been relocated to the ground floor, the gym has more than doubled from its original size and forms one of the key features of the £2 million redevelopment programme the centre is currently undergoing, in partnership with East Devon District Council.

The inspiring and exciting range of new Technogym equipment has been specifically chosen to be user-friendly and can easily bring extra energy into any gym session. The centrepiece is Technogym’s astounding Omnia.  This multi-purpose station is one of the first in the South West and really starts to put the fun into functional training.  A number of daily 20 minute Omnia workouts will be taking place to help users really make the most of their time in the gym.

Interactive treadmills and bikes provide Freeview TV channels and give access to social media and web browsing.  User accounts can be created to include personal music playlists, exercise training sessions and even link to activities undertaken outside of the gym.

Whilst there is an abundance of new equipment, it is all exceptionally user-friendly and the gym team are readily available for small, relaxed, group show rounds which can be booked through reception or directly with one of the team.

Leisure Manager, Simon Findel-Hawkins, is looking forward to showing people around:

“New and existing customers will be amazed with the transformation of the new areas which enjoy quite simply breath- taking estuary views.  It gives customers the perfect environment to take exercise and I can’t wait to see the smiles on their faces !”

Work will now focus on the remaining facilities in the centre’s re-development which looks set for completion towards the end of the summer.

The revolutionary toning suite is intended for people of all ages, abilities and mobility and enables exercise in a comfortable environment – especially great if you don’t want to attend the gym or a high energy class.  The remaining studios will also be ready for the Mind & Body and Studio Cycling classes.

The culmination of the work will also see the opening of Exmouth’s long awaited climbing wall. With 11 different walls, climbers of all ages and abilities will be able to have fun and test their nerve with this fabulous addition to the community.  A shortlist of entries for the design of one of the walls is being finalised  and will be put forward for a public vote later this month - see the website if you would like to vote for your favourite!

LED is celebrating the opening of the new gym by offering the first 100 gym users on May 18th a free gift.  Those who like to exercise later in the day will also be welcomed with a complimentary drink or healthy snack, to give a boost to their new workout!

Technogym’s Master Trainer Grant Powles will also be demonstrating how to get the most from the fantastic new equipment!

It doesn’t stop there as anyone who takes out an unlimited membership in May or June will be given a month FREE – let’s all feel great this summer!
