Film school offers unique experience for kids

Colourburn, a video and marketing agency located in Southernhay, and Exeter Phoenix have partnered to give kids aged 8 to 12 the opportunity to take part in a unique film school, which will see children create their very own short film and have it screened at a special premiere during ‘Screen on the Green’, which takes place in Northenhay Gardens this August.

The week-long, interactive, fun course starts on 28 July 2014,  and those involved will get real hands-on experience working with a professional crew.

Damo Cross of Colourburn comments: “Both Exeter Phoenix and Colourburn share a passion for filmmaking and we wanted to create an opportunity to harness the creativity of the regions next filmmakers. What better way to get an understanding of what it takes to create ambitious, creative films than by letting kids have a go at it themselves – you never know, they might even put us to shame!”

The Summer Film School – believed to be the first of its kind in Exeter – is being supported by a number of local businesses including Attention Media, a PR led marketing agency, Interserve and Touch Design Group, who will be assisting with set building.

“The support for this venture has been great and as well as offering financial support, Interserve will be sending a small team to get involved in building a set and Attention Media helping with PR.”

The Summer Film School, which costs £150, is limited to JUST 30 spaces with a number booked already. For more information please visit www.summerfilmschool.co.uk
