Held outdoors at Cranbrook’s own Cranberry Farm Pub, at the heart of the local community and celebrating the infamous ‘Cranbrook Day’, Cranbrook Festival took place last Saturday and was a roaring success. A steady flow of visitors, young and old, flocked in throughout the afternoon and the day was truly memorable.

“Absolutely amazing family day. Something for everyone. Can’t wait for next year’s event!” - Karen Hobbs

The plethora of entertainers at the event were varied and brilliant, including The Dilly Boys, Joe and Gemma Stone, Sicro Magic, Byzantium Lane and The Haus Band. Dance Dynamix put on fantastic performance and certainly got the crowd going!  There was dancing, laughter and a superb atmosphere from the moment the festival opened just after lunch until late into the evening.

Organisations from across the town and beyond had stalls at the festival. Local estate agents Complete Property held a brilliant raffle, with prizes given at intervals throughout the afternoon – keeping entrants excited to find out who might be the next lucky prize winner!

The Compere for the day, Daniel from Legends Live Promotions really hyped up the crowds and the event wouldn’t have been the same without his exuberant presence!

Karen Hamilton, Cranbrook Festival’s Committee Chair, had the following to say:

“It was a joy to see so many happy, smiling faces - adults and children alike. A massive thank you also to our amazing sponsors, without whom we could not have managed to put on this fantastic ‘free day out’ in Cranbrook.  Thank you so much Cranbrook Town Council, Cranberry Farm (Hall and Woodhouse), Southern Coop, Complete Property, Ellie Rich Design, Chris Wilson, Sound engineer, Otter Valley Rotary and Rowlands amusements! The day went smoothly thanks to all involved and the efforts of our volunteer stewards.”

Karen and a small team of volunteers were tasked with organising and making the event happen – and what a truly splendid job they did. It was great to see so many people out and enjoying themselves in the sunshine.

“A fantastic day out, such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Music was great and loads for the kids to do… Looking forward to next year!” - Stephanie Hartnell

It has to be said that the day was a phenomenal success, with fun had by all. Bring on next year’s festival!
