Brand new Exmouth foodie destination, Mickeys Beach Bar & Restaurant, will be open 5 days rather than 7 at the start of July temporarily to maintain the highest standards of operation within the restaurant, whilst ensuring staff are well looked after. The restaurant will be closed on two Mondays and Tuesdays in July (Monday 5th & Tuesday 6th and Monday 12th & Tuesday 13th July), further dates will be reviewed there-after.

The Mickeys Beach team will be contacting all those booked in for these dates to inform customers of the closure and staff will rebook all cancellations where possible, ensuring priority for these customers over new reservations.

In relation to the short-term closure, Chef Owner, Michael Caines says:  “The catering industry is suffering from a severe shortage of staff and we are of no exception to this problem. As a result, we have had to take the unfortunate measure of closing Mickeys Beach Bar and Restaurant on Mondays and Tuesdays to ensure that we can operate the business to the high standards that we expect, whilst ensuring that we look after our staff which will always be, our top priority as a business. We hope this will be a short-term measure as we seek to recruit new members of the team and re-launch our 7-day operation to make the most of our fantastic location.”

A welcome addition to Exmouth seafront, Michael Caines unveiled Mickeys Beach Bar & Restaurant on May 17th 2021. With rave reviews and comments from customers such as “by far the single best steak I have ever had” and “if you're still thinking about a meal several weeks after the fact, chances are the chefs are among the best in the world”- it is clear that Mickeys has been a hit with locals and tourists alike.

Recently launching their brand new careers page, recruitment at Mickeys Beach Bar & Restaurant (and across the entire Michael Caines Collection) is in full swing, with both full time, part time and flexible hours available with roles varying from Waiters and Kitchen Porters to Managers and Supervisors. Along with nurturing drive and passion, joining the Michael Caines Collection grants you access to a whole host of benefits in both experiential opportunities, financial rewards and bonuses as well as a few perks, including 25% discount when you dine as a customer throughout the Collection, birthday gift vouchers, staff parties and much more.

With its spacious seating, retractable glass terrace, and cosy booths & corners, this casual bar and restaurant offers a relaxed, sea view space for drinking, dining and dancing for any occasion, whether it’s a quiet table for two taking in the sunset over a bowl of Exmouth mussels and bottle of Mirabeau Rose, or celebrating with friends & family over cocktails and classic Neapolitan pizzas.

The Café Patisserie Glacerie which launched in April of this year next door to Mickeys Beach Bar will remain open 7 days showcasing the creations of Sylvain and Michael; including fresh French patisseries, house-made gelato ice-cream, artisan coffee, milk-shakes and available for grab and go hot pies and Cornish pasties, sandwiches and salads

Along with the grand unveiling of both Mickeys Beach Bar & Restaurant and Café Patisserie Glacerie in Exmouth this year, Michael and his team are also celebrating an impressive 10 years of the Michael Caines Academy at Exeter College. With a passion for nurturing the region’s future generation of talented restaurateurs, chefs and waiters, it’s only natural that Michael, as an advocate and ambassador to the cause, still personally interviews each candidate.
