‘Next Big Thing Design Award’ launched by Lakeland

Lakeland, the home of creative kitchenware is launching an exciting new design challenge for February’s UK International Spring Fair.

All new product designs and concepts that are submitted to Lakeland will be seen by their selection team.

The inventive, top 12, designers will be given the opportunity to show off their products to the world’s buyers at the International Spring Fair.

The winner of the competition will go on to receive a free day of design mentoring from Seymourpowell, the international design and innovation company and the potential to be included in the Lakeland range.

Martin Rayner, Director at Lakeland said ‘It’s our belief at Lakeland that new ideas are our future, and we’re really excited to be launching our search for young designers and young companies in our ‘Next Big Thing Design Award’. At Lakeland we introduce over 1500 new ideas every year to offer our customers the new ideas they want and need.

We really hope that ‘Next Big Thing Design Award’ will inspire budding young inventors, designers and companies, to bring their ideas to the market. If you haven’t had the chance to invent, design and sell at The International Spring Fair. Here is the opportunity.’

Product ideas can be submitted to nextbigthing@lakeland.co.uk up until Friday November 30th 2012.
