Blue Chip Holidays has announced that 2015 has been its best year of trading to date, with the number of guests up by over 17.6% and revenues up an additional £2.15 million by 14.5% from £15.2 million in 2014. The Devon based UK holiday operator has also started 2016 in its strongest position in its 14-year history with forward bookings for guests arriving in 2016 up by 26.9% and revenues up by 28.8% year on year. Airport celebrates best performance in six years

Exeter Airport is celebrating its best performance in six years with passenger numbers up by almost 7% to more than 800,000.

Figures just released show that the airport handled 816,379 passengers in 2015, compared to 763,902 the year before, an increase of 6.9%. The last time the airport had more than 800,000 passengers was in 2009.

Exeter Airport managing director Matt Roach said: “This is our third year of sustained growth and reflects the first full year of the daily London City service, the return of flights to Newcastle, and increased frequency to Manchester.

Discounts for diners using Avocet Line

Gastropubs along the Avocet Line from Exeter to Exmouth are offering discounts to diners who travel there by train. Rail passengers can get 10% off their food bill at selected pubs when they show the train ticket for their journey. Stagecoach expands Smart ticketing across SW

Stagecoach South West confirmed today that it is expanding its smart ticketing scheme across the region.

From Monday (18th January), all Megarider tickets* bought on board Stagecoach South West buses will be stored on StagecoachSmart cards. Drivers will issue customers with a smartcard, which will store their ticket electronically, instead of using a paper ticket.

The expanded smart ticketing scheme offers customers a more convenient, simple and greener approach to buying and using their bus ticket.
