Take Stagecoach South West’s X64 service this summer and get discounts at two of South Devon’s most popular attractions.

Woodlands Family Theme park and The South Devon Railway are offering discounts with any valid Stagecoach day ticket. Passengers can enjoy 20% off the standard gate price at Woodlands Family Theme Park* and £1 off a South Devon Steam Railway adult return ticket and £0.50 off for a child’s (3 – 15) ticket** when they present any valid Stagecoach day ticket purchased within the last 30 days.

Families are also being given the chance to win a day on the South Devon Railway by entering a fun social media competition. Children are being encouraged to make the most of their bus journey by taking interesting and fun photos, along the X64 route. In order to win the competition, they should tweet their photo to @stagecoachsw, using the hashtag #explorex64. Photographs could be of a fun activity, an historic location, a great view or a summer event and the winner will be selected by Stagecoach at the end of August.

The X64 service starts in Exeter then goes through Kingsteignton, Newton Abbot and Totnes, before reaching Dartmouth. In Dartmouth, customers can also connect onto the 3 which will take them to Stoke Fleming, Start Bay and Kingsbridge. With so much to do and see along the route, passengers can hop on and off the bus, as they explore the region, making the X64 a wonderful way to spend a day out during the school holidays.

Bob Dennison, Managing Director of Stagecoach South West, comments: “The X64 allows passengers to sit back, relax and enjoy their journey, without the hassle of driving and parking, during the busy summer holidays. Leaving the car at home allows families to focus on having fun and enjoying a great day out together. With so much to explore along the route, we are delighted to be working with Visit South Devon, to bring passengers the fantastic Woodlands and South Devon Railway discounts.”

Popular South Devon family visitor attractions include Totnes Castle and the River Dart cruise. A trip on the South Devon Railway will take families along the Dart Valley from Totnes to Buckfastleigh where they can visit the railway museum.  Woodlands, the South West’s biggest all weather theme park, is situated directly on the X64 route and has a huge array of family activities on over the summer holidays.

As well as all the great things to see and do, the South Devon region is also home to a fantastic range of family friendly shops, restaurants and cafes.

Sarah Stride, Acting General Manager of Visit South Devon, says:  “We are delighted that Stagecoach South West, Woodland Family Theme Park and the South Devon Railway are working together to promote and highlight the great days out and attractions that can be accessed by bus in South Devon.

“The X64 runs through the region’s stunning countryside, allowing your whole party to enjoy the amazing views and wonderful scenery on a car free day out.

“The timing for these offers is perfect for visitors to the region and local families looking for exciting days out during the summer holidays.”
