The family-run Ilsington Country House Hotel on Dartmoor has started work on a new spa due to open in February 2015. Guests staying while the work takes place will enjoy a 30% discount off regular room rates.

Facilities will be extensive for a 25 roomed hotel, which is the first in the South West to feature the renowned Spanish Inbeca equipment, including: a hydrotherapy pool boasting two submerged air beds, two water canons and back and leg jets plus, pool side sauna and steam room with mood lighting and sound. The existing 11m x 5m indoor pool is being refreshed with new lining and tiles.

Guests will also be able to burn off the calories on the latest LifeFitness equipment including: treadmills, cross-trainers, bicycles, rowing, step and weight machines in the fully equipped air-conditioned gym.

The changing room will feature new showers, wooden lockers and spin dryers for bathing costumes. There are also two treatment rooms where guests can enjoy a wide range of health and beauty treatments.

The Ilsington features an award winning fine dining restaurant as well as the informal bistro-style Blue Tiger Inn. Both offer creative menus using high quality fresh, local produce and the property's skilled chef even smokes his own fish and range of meats.

Richard Hassell, Director, Ilsington Country House Hotel, comments: “Our new Spa will provide guests with a sophisticated and well equipped facility offering the chance for complete relaxation as well as the ideal surroundings for starting or maintaining a fitness routine.

“Coupled with our award winning food and stunning location we are confident these new facilities will make the Ilsington even more appealing to couples and families seeking a short break or week long getaway.
