Peninsula celebrates budding success of new venture

Peninsula Private Medical Services opened its doors to invited guests for the ‘official’ launch Waterloo Court Health and Wellbeing Hub near Uffculme.

With the service already up and running, and word spreading fast, the founders were keen to celebrate successes so far and have the opportunity to showcase the impressive capabilities to invited guests.

Early access to hip replacement proven to be cost-effective

Early access to hip replacement is cost-effective and provides significant benefits for patients' quality of life, a study has shown.

Ruben Mujica-Mota, from the University of Exeter, carried out research comparing early access and delayed hip replacement surgery in Italy on behalf of the European Health Technology Institute for Socio-Economic Research (EHTI).

His findings, which are now published in the journal Value in Health, demonstrate both the cost-effectiveness of early hip replacement, as well as the benefits for patients.

Art wanted for next Community Centre Exhibition

Exeter Community Centre holds four-month exhibitions of painting, drawing, photography, print and a few ceramics. The work is curated from submissions and is open for anyone to apply. There is a Hanging Policy regarding content, but a very open-minded approach to form.

Exhibitions are rolling, every 4 months. The next is from 2nd-3rd February 2013. There are no charges for exhibiting or commission taken for any sales.

Artists are required to have their own PPL insurance and further insurance at their own discretion.
