THEATRE

Gabriela Munoz: Perhaps, Perhaps, Quizas...
Friday & Saturday, 7.30pm, Bike Shed Theatre, Exeter
If at first you don’t succeed, try again… and again… and again. A solo clown show about loneliness, waiting and hoping for the right man. Once a week Greta rehearses for the arrival of the “one”. Spaced Invaders

Five-piece 80s covers band Spaced Invaders will be playing live from 9pm. Free.

Expression Cubana
Saturday, 8pm, Exeter Corn Exchange
An amazing six-piece authentic and irresistibly danceable Cuban band led by the charismatic vocalist, flautist and composer Kico Cowan.  A mixture of traditional Cuban music and Salsa, this is World Music at its most tuneful, danceable best. The Martin Harley Band

Diamondogz

Jukebox and Bobbysox
Sunday, 7.30pm, Exmouth Pavilion
Jukebox and Bobbysox is an exciting new 50/50's stage show that will have audiences rockin, clapping and dancing in the isles. Featuring the most popular music of the most influential decades in the history of music this high energy show tributes artistes such as Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, Connie Francis, Elvis, Dusty Springfield, Brenda Lee, Billy Fury, Cliff Richard plus many more. EVENTS

GEMFEST 2013
Sunday, Exeter Phoenix
GEMFEST is an indoor festival raising money for Brain Tumour UK/The Brain Tumour Charity.  The festival will be divided into two sections: daytime is family orientated and will be free of charge to attend. There will be a performing arts workshops (some of which need to be prebooked), arts and crafts, storytelling, stalls, films, face painting, games, competitions and more. Some activities have a small charge to cover costs but most of it is free. This will run from 12-5pm. The evening runs from 6pm-2am and will be tickets only.  There will be two music stages with both local and national up and coming performers and a variety of genres. The main stage will finish up with an amazing live electronic act with live projection mapped visuals. DJ’s will also be running simultaneously on the terrace until 2am.  There will be additional entertainment elsewhere in the building including magic, comedy and films so there really is something for everyone.  A full list of the line up is available on the website www.gemfest.org

Women V Cancer at the Bar V
Sunday, Bar Venezia, Exeter Quay
The 2013 Easter Sunday Charity Event that has Everything. A barbecue, raffle, Mark Travis singing live, face painting, a Wine or Water stall, archery, a fun dog agility 'class' and lots more.  In the evening there will be Latin dance music from Street Life and Burlesque from Cherry Ve'Dore, followed by a DJ marathon for those that still have energy.  Evening tickets are £3.  This event is raising funds for Women's Cancers (Breast Cancer Care, Ovarian Cancer Action and Jo' s Cervical Trust) - supporting a 400km cycle across Cuba in October to raise awareness.  Click here for details.

Objects of Desire costume exhibition
Killerton House, Broadclyst
This fashion exhibition will have some of the most luxurious vintage fashion and accessories from the 20th century and highlight the ultimate in designer and couture clothes.
Glamorous gowns, gorgeous bags and exquisite shoes will be among the items on display against a magical new series of backdrops.

BP Portrait Award at the RAMM
RAMM, Exeter
BP Portrait Awards showcases the very best in contemporary portrait painting from around the world. For thirty-three years, of which the last twenty-three have been sponsored by BP, the exhibition has presented outstanding and innovative new work in a variety of styles and approaches, and it continues to be a highlight of the annual art calendar.
