Peninsula celebrates budding success of new venture

Peninsula Private Medical Services opened its doors to invited guests for the ‘official’ launch Waterloo Court Health and Wellbeing Hub near Uffculme.

With the service already up and running, and word spreading fast, the founders were keen to celebrate successes so far and have the opportunity to showcase the impressive capabilities to invited guests.

Doctors raise blood pressure in patients

Doctors routinely record blood pressure levels that are significantly higher than levels recorded by nurses, the first thorough analysis of scientific data has revealed. A Devon NHS and local government leader has won a prestigious national award for her exceptional work to improve people’s health and wellbeing and help them get the care they need in or close to their home.

Keri Storey was victorious in the National NHS Leadership Recognition Awards at a ceremony in central London.

New opening hours for Sidwell Street walk-in centre

The opening hours of the NHS walk-in centre in Sidwell Street, Exeter, have been temporarily reduced as of yesterday.

The opening hours will now be 8am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

The NHS Trust has been forced to reduce the opening hours due to staffing issues, including long-term sickness and difficulties in recruiting suitably qualified staff.

The change in opening hours has been supported by the Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group.

Slimming World Consultant Penni Ball has proved she's red hot after winning a Ruby Award for her work in helping tackle obesity in the area.
