An Exeter restaurant is asking holidaymakers to think of their ‘local’ as they’re sunning themselves abroad by sending a postcard back home to the family restaurant. In 1965 the National Trust launched the Neptune Coastline Campaign to protect the coast from the threat of development and look after it for the nation for ever. The Terrace and GBK confirmed for Queen St Quarter

Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc (‘Aviva’) formally confirmed today (13 August 2015) that “The Terrace” - A Craft Brew Bar and Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) will be opening next year in Exeter's exciting new Queen St dining quarter.

The Terrace and GBK have now signed contracts with Aviva Investors, bringing the Queen St restaurant count up to 4, joining Turtle Bay and The Stable which have been announced previously.

Devon-based pasty and pie makers, Chunk, are celebrating after maintaining their crown as the UK’s tastiest pasty and pie suppliers by scooping a further four national foodie accolades, with four golds from Great Taste, bringing their awards total to 60.

The company, which employs 30 people and is based in Ottery St Mary, is well and truly rivaling its Cornish counterparts. Killerton Kitchen restaurant strikes gold

The Killerton Kitchen restaurant has won gold in the prestigious ‘Taste of the West’ awards celebrating fantastic local food and drink in the South West.

The judges were highly impressed with the food and service, putting the restaurant on par with other’s in Devon such as the River Exe Cafe and Two Bridges.

Circa 1924, a new restaurant located just off Exeter High Street at 6 Northernhay Place, is set to take the city’s culinary scene by storm with its 1920s-inspired steak and seafood house and ‘moonshiner’ speakeasy cocktail bar.

Old Malt Scoop Inn opens to acclaim

The people of Lapford turned up in their hundreds to welcome the new landlords of the Old Malt Scoop Inn when it re-opened for business.

The freehold of the historic pub has been acquired from Punch Taverns by Linda and Trevor Voaden and they have set about a comprehensive programme of renovation and refurbishment.

In just two weeks the couple have stripped the pub and created a very comfortable and contemporary environment while retaining many of the original features that remind you that the building is an historic Grade II listed property.
