Only 20 months after taking over the business, Hanlons Brewery is now happily established in its new location in Half Moon Village, near Exeter. The business has grown from strength to strength and is seen as one of the leading West Country Breweries.

In 2014 Hanlons Port Stout received a Gold Award from Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) South West and was subsequently asked to be a guest beer at this year’s Great British Beer Festival held in Olympia in August 2015. The Champion Beer of Britain is an award presented by CAMRA at this festival which is held annually.

This year's Devon Restaurant Month, which took place in June, was a resounding success. Over 30 establishments across the county participated and the feedback from all was 'outstanding'. Next year will see the fifth Devon Restaurant Month and it promises to raise the bar even higher and bring even more custom into the county's bounty of eateries.

Jim and Lucy Fisher, founders of Exeter Cookery School - due to launch later this year on Exeter’s historic quayside - were cooking up a storm at the pre-launch of their exciting new venture. Held at the swish showroom of Sapphire Spaces in Topsham, Jim and Lucy entertained the crowd of food lovers with a tantalising taste of what’s in store from this dynamic duo.

We are very fortunate to live just outside Exeter, a city which now boasts a vast array of assorted eateries, bars and restaurants and we endeavour to dine out with our two boys at least once a month and have done this since the boys were small as I did with my parents introducing them to new flavours and learning to behave impeccably when dining out amongst the ‘grown-ups’.
