There are so many different ways to cook beef, all of which are absolutely delicious. For both professional chefs and amateur home cooks, having a winning beef recipe up your sleep is vital for impressing your guests.

Beef can be a little expensive at times. However, it is still better to source quality organic meat where possible for the best possible results. To help out everyone in the kitchen, here are four popular beef recipes that you need to try.

1. Chilli Butter Steak

Chilli butter steak is the perfect way to add a bit of spice to your dinner, especially as winter is now on our doorstep. The great thing about this recipe is that it is super easy to cook, and the steak can be paired with any of your favorite side dishes, from potatoes to rice to roasted vegetables. Here is how to make a delicious chili butter steak.

For a classic steak and chips with a twist, fry some hand-cut sweet potato fries until golden brown and serve with your chili butter steaks!

2. London Broil

For anyone who doesn’t know, a London Broil is a special way to cook beef by marinating it and then searing and broiling. This makes the beef ultra-tender and flavorsome. The great thing about this London broil recipe is that it can be done super easily, just using a pressure cooker. You can use a few different cuts of beef for a London broil, but for the pressure cooker, we think a top round is best.

Ingredients:

  • Top Round 1kg
  • 2 cups of beef stock
  • Red wine vinegar
  • Tomato paste
  • Thyme
  • Olive oil

Preparation:

  • Marinate the beef overnight in the vinegar, tomato paste, and half the stock.

Cooking:

  • Saute the beef in the pressure cooker in a little olive oil.
  • Add the rest of the stock.
  • Cook beef at high pressure for 20 minutes.
  • Season with a little salt and pepper and serve.

For the perfect meal, roast some red potatoes with whole cloves of garlic and serve.

3. Winter Beef and Lentil Soup

There is nothing better on a cold winter’s night than a warm, hearty soup. This beef and lentil soup is perfect for sharing with family and tastes just as good the next day. The fantastic thing about this soup is that you can add any kind of vegetables that you like to create the perfect bowl. Make sure to soak your lentils well to create the ideal texture.

Ingredients:

  • Braising Steak (200g per person)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 2 medium celery
  • 200g of lentils
  • 2 medium carrots
  • 1 medium sweet potato
  • 1.5 liters of beef stock
  • 50 ml of red wine
  • Fresh thyme
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation:

  • Soak the lentils overnight or for 12 hours.
  • Chop up the braising steak and season carefully with salt and pepper.
  • Dice the vegetables roughly.

Cooking:

  • Heat the olive oil in a large casserole pot and brown the braising steak.
  • Add the barley and all of the vegetables minus the sweet potato and cook until soft.
  • Add stock and red wine and bring to a simmer.
  • Add the fresh thyme to taste.
  • Add the sweet potato.
  • Cover the pot and cook on low heat for one hour.

Be careful with how lentils you add because if you add too much, then your soup will be too thick. Use this recipe as a guide, but make sure to add the lentils a little at a time to get a perfect consistency.

Beef is so many people’s favorite meat for good reasons. It is such a versatile and delicious meat that can be used in various kinds of dishes. With so many different cuts of beef, it is vital that you use the right cooking technique for the perfect flavor and texture. As you can see in these recipes, a fillet needs cooking in a totally different way to braising steak, and as long as you give each cut of beef the love it deserves, you will get a delicious meal every time.
