Enjoy festive indulgence at Darts Farm

With twinkling festive lights and decorations scented with spices, it is definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas at award-winning local food retailer, Darts Farm.

Once again Darts Farm has a calendar bursting with Christmas events and activities, including Christmas master classes, food and drink tastings, Santa’s Grotto, late night shopping, and for the first time this year - a carol service lead by Woodbury church.

Darts Farm’s Festive Indulgence Evening will kick-start the festivities on Wednesday 5th December from 7.30pm – 9.30pm. Now in its sixth year, the Festive Indulgence Evening is expected to be the greatest yet, with celebrity chocolatier, Willie Harcourt-Cooze, heading a range of food and drink master classes and gift demonstrations. Best known for Channel 4’s documentary ‘Willie’s Wonky Chocolate Factory’, Willie has a reputation for producing some of the best chocolate in the world at his factory in Uffculme, Devon.

As well as being able to taste some of the finest food and drink the Southwest has to offer, winners of the World Cheese Awards, Quickes and Cornish Blue, will be offering Christmas cheese master classes; Master of Wine, Alastair Peebles will introduce some fabulous wines to complement the Christmas meal; Gerald David Butchers will be teaching you how to prepare the most delicious Christmas roast, and Sarah Pepper Flowers will show you how to create simple yet stunning Christmas decorations. For those who like a little pampering, enjoy mini hand treatments, mini makeovers and massages with The Treatment Loft, skincare consultations with Cowshed and Dr Hauschka in Orange Tree, and party hair-up do’s from the newest addition to Darts Farm, Energy Hair.

If this is not enough, artist Simon Drew and author Tracey Elliot-Reep will be doing signings and there will be lots of fantastic offers on the night, including buy one get one half price on paint in Fired Earth and 15% discount on all furniture in Orange Tree. Tickets cost only £7 per person and ticket holders will be in with a chance of winning £1000 of Fired Earth products and a large festive hamper.

On Wednesday 12th December Darts Farm will be staying open until 8.30pm for the first of its late night shopping. It will be an evening full of festive cheer with a special Christmas menu in the restaurant, carols by the Barber Shop Choir Renaissance, Santa’s Grotto and a visit from donkeys at the Donkey Sanctuary. On Wednesday 19th December, Darts Farm will be open until 9pm, with Woodbury Church leading a carol service in the restaurant from 8pm and carols by Little Angels and Exeter Festive Chorus.

Have a pre-Christmas treat with a ‘Discover Wine Tasting’ on Thursday 13th December from 7.30pm – 9pm, with Master of Wine, Alastair Peebles from Devon Wine School. This fun and informal tutored tasting will focus on 6 Chilean wines from 6 different grape varieties, accompanied by delicious Darts Farm nibbles. Special introductory price of £25 per person.
