Chilli drinking chocolate from South Devon Chilli Farm hots up Great Taste Awards

Tasted amongst 10,000 other products at the 2013 Great Taste Awards, South Devon Chilli Farm’s chilli drinking chocolate wowed the judges and has been awarded a highly sought after star. Not only is this Aztec style hot chocolate absolutely delicious but also comes in a seriously stylish kilner jar (200g, £7.00) and gives twice the warmth of a regular hot chocolate.

Steve Waters, chilli expert and co-director of South Devon Chilli Farm, comments on the award: “We are thrilled to have won a star at this year’s Great Taste Awards, the world’s largest and most rigorous food awards.”  Steve continues: “More than twelve judges including top chefs, food critics and fine food retailers blind tasted our chilli drinking chocolate, judging purely on taste.  This award, therefore, not only means a great deal to us but also to our many followers, giving them re-assurance that South Devon Chilli Farm products are not only wonderfully made and of the highest quality, but also extremely tasty.”

For the perfect Mexican-style hot chocolate drink, Steve recommends melting about 30g-40g (two or three dessertspoons) into hot milk.  The 200g of flakes in the kilner jar is enough for about eight mugs of this warming drink.  When you’ve come to the bottom of the kilner jar you can simply buy a re-fill pack from South Devon Chilli Farm of the chilli drinking chocolate (250g, £5.25).  You can keep your kilner jar topped up knowing that you are being very environmentally friendly.
