Wines are healthy alcoholic beverages help us loosen up from the pressures and stress brought by hustling hard every day. Drinking a glass of your favourite wine after a long and tiresome day at work is just heaven. However, in some cases, some of us get intimidated by drinking a glass of wine because it's still an alcoholic beverage that can adversely affect our health.

Take note that wines are made naturally from grapes. Unlike different types of alcoholic drinks, wines do not contain a lot of synthetic elements. In fact, most medical experts would recommend drinking a glass of wine every day.

Still, some people are hesitant to acknowledge the health advantages of wine, they come up with doubts which prevents them from enjoying every wine label. Thus, we would like to lay out some common wine drinking myths that most people believe are true. Once you know these myths, your overall impression of wine will surely change.

All Rose Wines are Sweet

Rose wines are the most versatile and prettiest wines ever produced. It has the most beautiful tone that comes in light pink to dark ones. It also has a Sparkling characteristic that can be served to just about any occasion and can also be paired with different dishes.

Some people are under the impression that all Rose wines are sweet. While many knew that these wines are crafted from green to light-coloured grapes, they come in several variations. Rose wines also have dry varieties, especially the ones from Provence. It also has labels with low alcohol content and less sugar.

All Red Wines Need a Lot of Ageing Years

Wines undergo a thorough ageing process to extract their real taste and aroma. Red wines take the said process on large oak barrels, and ageing helps the wine grape juice to extract the tannin content. It is the primary identifier of the natural alcohol and taste of each red wine.

Although an extended ageing time helps the red wine to produce a strong taste, not all types of wine need to undergo the same process. There are wines such as Gevrey Chambertin wines that came from Cabernet Sauvignon grape varietals that showcase exquisite taste but doesn’t require extended ageing time. You can consume them right away.

Wines Have Lots of Calories

As you might observe, when you buy wine, you will not see any nutritional facts in the bottle. It is the reason why some people think that wines are high in calories. But  this is a big misconception at all as wines are the only alcoholic beverages that contain the lowest calories.

If you’re still sceptical about it, there are dry wines with low-calorie content that you can indulge with. They will not hurt your diet at all. You can also try white wines that are low in alcohol and calorie percentage.

An Opened Bottle Can Last 10 Days Inside the Fridge

Most of us open a bottle of wine to drink and put it in the fridge when there's a leftover. We wanted to store it for a few more days, and by the time we sip another glass, the taste is already different, which discourage us from drinking it again. Once you open a bottle of wine, you need to consume it as soon as possible.

Take note that the oxygen takes place once you cork up a bottle of wine. If you store it in a fridge, the aroma will wear off as time goes by. It leaves you under the impression that wines do not taste good. Although there are a few procedures you can take to preserve leftover wines, they don’t guarantee to retain the same taste a wine had before you opened its bottle.

Most Expensive Wines Tastes Better

A lot of us are under the impression that the more expensive the wine, the better it will taste. Well, for some brands, it may be true, but this myth does not apply for all wine labels.

In fact, there are many inexpensive wines right now that taste almost the same, or better than their expensive counterparts. All you have to do is to make a little effort to understand the wine composition before you buy one and drink it.
