Learn to clown around with the team at Knightshayes, the National Trust property on the outskirts of Tiverton, as it hosts a circus skill workshop badge day this half-term.

On Tuesday 27 May, between 10.30am and 4pm, the event will give scouting and guiding groups the chance to earn their circus skills badge. They will learn skills like plate spinning, diablo and juggling from our Victorian themed circus performer Robin Fox. In addition, they will be shown how to make juggling balls, to use face paint like circus professionals and will perform their newly learnt skills to one...

Roll up, roll up, and join the team at Knightshayes as they host a series of Victorian circus skill workshops this May half-term.

Running from Saturday 24 May through to Sunday 1 June, between 11am and 4pm, the event will give kids of all ages the chance to try their hand at skills like plate spinning, diablo and juggling. Between Monday 26 and Friday 30 May the property will also play host to circus performer, Robin Fox.

East Devon District Council is hosting another charity ‘Dogs' Day Out’ from 10am to 4pm. Pet owners and their canine companions can enjoy a huge range of free activities in aid of The Dogs' Trust.

Free micro chipping, a fun dog show, agility displays, a tombola and free giveaways are all on offer as EDDC promotes responsible dog ownership in a fun, friendly way.

Book lovers in Devon are being invited to celebrate World Book Night at the County Council’s libraries next week.

This year, 250,000 World Book Night editions (12,500 copies of 20 titles) will be given by a network of volunteer reading enthusiasts and institutions focusing on reaching the 35.2% of the population who don’t read for pleasure
