The secrets beneath Casa Maroc - Restaurant Review

After being Gino’s for many years, I was intrigued to see what changes Casa Maroc were bringing to the restaurant situated on Bartholomew Street.

I visited Casa Maroc on a Thursday evening and despite Exeter’s car parks being full and the outside of the restaurant being brightly lit and inviting, I was surprised to find the restaurant relatively empty.

I visited the restaurant just a couple weeks after its re-opening and new menu launch. I was warmly greeted by new manager Rob Neil and was pleased to be offered to sit wherever I wished.

Out of the three seating...

For three nights only, The Met Office plays host to Bring The Happy Live, a theatre event mapping and celebrating happiness in Exeter.

An intimate and interactive evening somewhere between a wedding and a wake, Bring The Happy Live is a spectacular culmination of a project mapping moments and memories of happiness in Exeter and across the country.

The project will begin with artists, Invisible Flock, occupying a disused shop in Exeter High Street. Armed with giant maps of Exeter and stacks of tea, they will invite passers-by to come in and share a memory – a first kiss, a...

Television is a powerful thing. TV quiz fans will undoubtedly need no introduction to Paul Sinha, one of the four “Chasers” (i.e. regular general knowledge experts) on ITV daytime quiz The Chase.

Indeed, even without the distinctive white suit he wears on the programme, a show of hands early on at this Thursday evening comedy performance at the Exeter Phoenix made clear that he was far better known for The Chase than anything else.

In fact, Paul is an extremely experienced stand up and has been performing throughout the world for nineteen years.

Ben Elton's Tonight's the Night tour arrives in Torquay on Monday 3 February. Here, the writer talks about why he wanted to revisit the Rod Stewart musical.

Ben Elton is the protean talent whose career has spanned plays, novels, and a feature film, in addition to 30 years as one of the most successful comic writers and performers on the British television and stand-up circuit. But Elton, 54, has always reserved a special place in his heart for musicals, having written three that feature music from such diverse talents as Andrew Lloyd Webber, Queen, and Rod Stewart. The last-named...

The Money is back for one night only

Spend the money on whatever you want. Just keep within the law.

The Money returns to Exeter for one night only.

The event, created by Kaleider, launched last November at Exeter’s Guildhall and its unique premise caused quite a stir. The audience, or players, can dictate much of the action meaning the outcome can be completely different each night.

To participate, players either become a Benefactor donating at least £10, or a Silent Witness watching as a group of Benefactors decide how to spend their collective money. Silent Witnesses can buy their way in if they...
