Pawesome day out with pen farthing

Looking for the perfect way to round off the summer holidays? Head to Pawesome Day Out, a lively, family-friendly charity event on Sunday 31st August from 12pm at St Martin’s Football Club, Exminster—where fun, food, and four-legged friends take centre stage!

Organised by Claudia Pinn of Claudia’s Canines and the UK–Sri Lanka-based charity Lucas Helps Dogs, this event aims to raise vital funds for street animals in Sri Lanka. Fun for all at 37th Dartmoor Folk Festival

Family-friendly, yet traditional, the Dartmoor Folk Festival, which follows hot on the heels of the Sidmouth Folk Festival, will take place in the foothills of Dartmoor from Friday, August 8 to Sunday, August 10.

It includes a packed programme of events and activities suitable for all ages, including a hugely-successful dedicated children's festival.

The main event will include concerts, a ramble on Dartmoor, a ceilidh, folk service, craft displays, dances, a Dartmoor Fayre, music hall, pub sessions and music, song and dance workshops.

O&O Do Chagstock, next stop Nozstock!

Chagstock 2014 was another sell out this year, with local comedy duo O'Shea & O'Gaukroger pleasing crowds with their Live Lounge appearance on the Saturday.

250 people crammed into the live lounge to watch them, the biggest crowd behind Alex Kumar that the stage has ever got! 2014 brings a three day programme that takes over the city centre with street theatre shows that will amaze and cause mayhem.

Exeter Northcott Theatre has put its hardworking staff centre stage as it launches its autumn 2014 Season.

To celebrate receiving Arts Council funding, the new brochure pays tribute to the fantastic team at the theatre as they make a trip back to the 1940s through the costume store. RAMM showcases work of deafblind artists

An exhibition at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery will showcase the work of deafblind artists.

The Sense group of artists won the Local Art Show competition run by the Express & Echo with RAMM. Iconic animation models to be displayed

Ray Harryhausen is a legendary figure in the history of animation through the models that he created for films such as Jason and the Argonauts, One Million Years B.C, and The Golden Voyage of Sinbad.

And a selection of items from The Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation’s collection will be exhibited at The Bill Douglas Cinema Museum at the University of Exeter until 7 October.
