From the opening notes of the community choral day to the uplifting finale of the London African Gospel Choir, Budleigh Music Festival celebrated its 20th anniversary in style.

Taking place in the beautiful St Peter’s Church, the festival delivered world-class classical performances, inclusive community events, and stunning moments of musical magic.

Stars come out for Waterloo concert

Nearly 800 supporters and guests packed into Exeter Cathedral on June 20th to enjoy an evening of music and readings to remember the Battle of Waterloo and honour the courage and service of British soldiers over the last 200 years.

Joining the Deputy Lord Lieutenant and Deputy Lord Mayor were Chelsea Pensioners, members of the Coldstream Guards and local favourites Caroline Quentin and Angela Rippon. The concert was held to raise funds for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the National Charity of the British Army.

Standing ovations have greeted every packed performance of Grease, presented by Stage by Stage at the Northcott Theatre this week.

Over 2,000 people have seen the classic show, presented by Exeter's own theatre arts school with a cast of 70 aged from 11 to 19.

Following last year's performances of Les Miserables the students changed gear to present the high energy 1950s musical. There are just 3 performances left so don't delay- move like greased lightning to get a ticket!

Lovers of traditional music are in for a rare treat when a special concert at Exeter Northcott Theatre on 12 July brings together harmonica wizard Will Pound and his band, members of South West-based Wren Band and 25 young musicians from Devon.

Will, recognised as one of the finest harmonica players in the world and often to be heard on BBC Radio 2, will join Wren Band musicians and the children during the first half of the show before he and his band have the stage to themselves for the second half.

Tag rugby FEZtival in Exeter

A tag rugby FEZtival is taking place in Exeter on Saturday 25 July.

Mixed veteran teams from Exeter Chiefs, Plymouth Albion, Exeter Saracens will be taking part - from club players to full blown internationals.

The event is being held at Exeter Saracens Rugby Club, Exhibition Fields, Summer Lane and is raising funds for FORCE Cancer Charity.

Gates open at 12.30pm and entry is free.

As well as some great rugby there'll be a barbecue hog roast, live music, charity auction hosted by BBC Spotlight's Andy Birkett and a festival party.

Polite applause is the norm from arena crowds experiencing new, young recording artists opening for A list Headliners. But that was not so when Hunter and the Bear warmed up for Eric Clapton’s recent UK tour. Exeter time travel experiment to be broadcast

There will be a live broadcast of time travel being screened at Walkabout in Exeter on Friday.

A lady known as Anna from Exminster put an ad on Gumtree to find a companion after she believed she had invented a time machine.

Similar to the story in the film Safety Not Guaranteed, which came out in 2012, Anna has faced skeptics in the press.

A young transgender man is hoping to dispel often widespread misunderstanding about transgender culture with an event he is hosting in Devon.

Kay Browning from Tiverton wants others like himself and those questioning their gender identity to be accepted for who they are.
