two teenagers ice skating on ice rink

REVIEW: Icescape Westpoint

With four kids between us aged 12 to 18, organising a festive family outing usually involves spreadsheets, negotiations and at least one teenager muttering, “Do I have to come?” under their breath.

“Hon, I’m not so sure that I’m in the right place? Am I meant to be parked up in a field?”

Hey, it was a fair enough text. I mean it’s not every day you accept an invite to a Tuesday night gig to watch a band billed as ‘the next big thing” and then find yourself on a farm in the middle of nowhere.

But sure enough, my fab friend Hannah was indeed parked up in the right place; a field in the grounds of the stunning Eggbeer Farm and the brand new location for The Loft Barbers Live Sessions.

Booking London-based Hunter and the Bear, for this gig, had prompted the search...

How not to get fleeced by casinos

It’s amazing how the gambling industry has evolved and embraced the internet as a way to get closer to gambling enthusiasts. It has certainly made gambling a lot easier and has opened an entire new way of attracting customers, through online casino promotions. You make a deposit and you get a bonus amount on the house that you can use to wager. The biggest strain you have to endure is to sit in front of your computer or laptop, or just pick up your smartphone or tablet and off you go into the amazing and sometimes dreadful world of one of the oldest vices in the universe. It’s certainly a...
