8th Exeter Pride event set to be biggest and most colourful yet

Exeter Pride returns for its 8th year on Saturday, May 7 and it will be the county's biggest and brightest celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and other communities (LGBTQ+).

It is one of the most highly regarded Pride events of its kind in the South West and is being endorsed by key individuals and organisations.

2016 Banff Mountain Film Festival comes to Exeter

The international Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings big screen stories and adventure to Exeter, with two different film programmes being held at the Corn Exchange in Exeter on 13th and 14th May.

The UK and Ireland tour offers audiences the opportunity to travel the world and experience a selection of exhilarating, inspirational, and unforgettable adventures from the contrasting comfort of a theatre chair.

Production commences for Mordred, an Arthurian drama, created by local people.

"I am what you made me become!” is the tagline of the film, spoken by Mordred.

This production aims to not only showcase very heavily researched Dark Ages (6th century) history of Devon and Cornwall, linked to some of the very earliest and less known Arthurian legends, but also equally to showcase the amazing skills by local actors, filmmakers, and other production creatives. Since there are very few opportunities, we decided to make our own and claw our own way up.

Toby Buckland’s Garden Festival an outstanding success

The Blackheart Orchestra are coming to Exeter on 13th May to perform at Poltimore House.

They have toured extensively in the UK, Australia and New Zealand and are touring later in the year with Canadian star Jane Siberry and 60s legend Melanie Safka before embarking on a headline tour of Europe in November.

Film fans will be heading to Pavillion in the Park, Okehampton at the end of June as after details were revealed for a new open air cinema festival weekend.

Firm Open Air Film and Chill is set to bring two iconic films to the big screen, an all time favourite Top Gun on Friday 24th June and musical Dirty Dancing to the site on Saturday 25th June.
