'St Gudula' stands by the River Swincombe on Dartmoor

Ancient Holy Well Forms Centrepiece for new Dartmoor Community Pageant

The spirit of a medieval saint will be evoked in a new community ritual for Dartmoor, which aims to reconnect people with water and the land.

St Gudula’s Well in Ashburton, an ancient holy well, will be the focus of the ceremony, which will honour water as the source of all life, and also celebrate the start of summer.

‘Gudula’s Gathering’ has been conceived by events curator and writer Kirsteen McNish, and Helen Bruce of the Dartmoor Preservation Association, as the closing event for the Dartmoor Tors Festival.

It will incorporate a community procession and a...

Why You Should Binge Watch “You're The Worst” This Weekend

Season 4 of FXX’s You're The Worst has just premiered, and its episode-a-week format gives you the chance to catch up if you've missed the first three. Even if you're all caught up, I recommend going back and rewatching some of the most iconic episodes. If you can’t access You're The Worst because of regional restrictions, consider using a VPN (there are those that work even when your school’s blocked VPNs ). As you can tell, I absolutely love You're The Worst. I was initially drawn to it by Chris Geere’s portrayal of Jimmy, a British author living in the States. Now I’m hooked, and...

Comedian Rich Hall books Exeter date

Rich Hall and his Hoedown band begin their second leg of touring this autumn with their Hoedown show for 2017. Never has there been a better time to be an American comedian in the UK.

Hall’s precision dismantling of the tenuous relationship between the two countries is as freewheeling and deadly accurate as ever.

This Hoedown tour begins as a withering dissection of Trump’s America and all of its twists and turns, but ends up in a celebration of Americana. There’s stand-up, improvised ballads, cracking good musicianship, and ultimately a hilarious, foot-stomping, shit-...
