She Seduced A Nation

This captivating story follows the rise and fall of a nation’s hero. It is based on the life of Argentine actress and political leader Eva Perón, who rose from nothing to become one of the most famous political figures in the country’s history.

Following Eva’s rise to become the Spiritual Leader of the nation, the musical features many celebrated songs including “Another Suitcase in Another Hall” and “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina”. Evita features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice and is one of their most successful musicals. The show had an incredible run on the West End, Broadway and has recently finished a successful UK Tour.

EVITA is the perfect fit for Footlights, and we are excited to be producing such an iconic theatrical masterpiece. Producer Jyothi Giles said “this show will showcase the University’s great singing, acting and dancing talent, as well as providing a dynamic score and opportunities for our production team to explore what a large-scale musical has to offer. This is a production which we'll be proud to put on stage in January, and seeing it come together is really exciting.”

With the biggest cast Footlights has ever seen and a fantastic 18 piece orchestra, EVITA is set to be one the biggest events in Exeter’s theatrical calendar.
