Two practical courses inspired by the displays at Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) are ideal people looking new outlets for their creativity.

The courses in jewellery making and stone carving start with a tour of the museum galleries to seek inspiration then continue at the Passmore Edwards Centre in Newton Abbot.

Jewellery in Metal for Beginners starts on Wednesday 21 October. Devon jewellery designer Naomi Davies leads the weekly sessions. Her work combines current fashion trends with timeless style to produce highly wearable art that shines with class, quality and individuality. The course costs £65.88 and ends on Wednesday 25 November.

The Stone Carving course starts on Thursday 22 October. Course leader Maria Moorhouse is passionate about carving stone, whether creating sculpture or passing on her skills, and she has wide experience of both. The course costs £102 and ends on Thursday until 10 December.

Bookings are made through Learn Devon: www.learndevon.co.uk, learndevon@devon.gov.uk or 0345 155 1014. Learn Devon provides adult and community learning courses on behalf of Devon County Council. Eligibility criteria apply.
