Exmouth Art Group return to A la Ronde, the quirky National Trust house near Exmouth, with a variety of artwork produced by some of the best local artists.

This eclectic exhibition runs until 3 July and offers the visitor an opportunity to view and perhaps purchase a piece from the traditional to the more contemporary, at a realistic price.

Secretary of the group Cath Ager says: “A la Ronde and its setting are wonderful creative sources for paintings; and Exmouth Art Group members, often inspired by the beautiful Devon landscape and coastal environment, are delighted to return with a display of recent work.”

Exmouth Art Group was founded in 1946 by a group of just seven artists wishing to share skills and enthusiasms and organize joint art exhibitions.  Sixty six years later the Group has grown to more than 200 members but still holds to the original stated aim: “to encourage the appreciation and practice of the visual arts in this district.”

The Group meets regularly for talks by guest speakers, demonstrations and critiques and runs painting sessions, coach trips and outdoor sketching outings. To find out more about Exmouth Art Group please visit www.exmouthartgroup.org.uk

A la Ronde is a unique and quirky sixteen sided house, built under the instructions of the two cousins Jane and Mary Parminter in the eighteenth century. It is full of unusual craft and art work, which was collected by the cousins during their ten year European tour.

Normal admission charges apply for entry to the house which is open from 11am to 5pm with last admissions at 4pm. The grounds, tea-room and shop are open between 10.30am and 5.30pm, with last orders in the tea-room at 5pm. Entry to the exhibition in the stable and tearoom is free.
