Big Screen in the Park returns to Exeter’s Northernhay Gardens tonight (13 August) for four nights of fabulous films under the stars.

A different film will be shown each of the four nights on a 10m wide screen.

Along with the entertainment there are also several places to purchase food and drinks. The Little Devon Pizza Co will be serving up wood fired pizzas, Bar Belafronte will be offering specially selected craft beers and there you'll also find home-made butter fudge popcorn on sale.

Gates open at 7.30pm and the films start at approximately 9pm.

Tickets cost £3, and if you wish to bring your own chair you will have to pay an extra £1.

The following films are showing:

Wednesday 13 August

The Lego Movie (PG) – Join an all-star cast in the ultimate action packed, hilarious adventure of the year. Ordinary guy Emmet is mistaken as being the Master Builder, the one who can save the universe. Drafted into a fellowship of strangers Emmet embarks on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant who is bent on destroying the universe by gluing it together.

Thursday 14 August

Rush (15) – Ron Howard delivers the heart racing, epic, true story of a legendary rivalry that rocked the world. During the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1, two drivers emerged as the best: gifted English playboy James Hunt and his methodical, brilliant Austrian opponent, Niki Lauda. As they mercilessly clash on and off the Grand Prix racetrack, the two drivers push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there’s no shortcut to victory and no margin for error.

Friday 15 August

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (15) – Having recently lost his closest friend to the jaws of a strange sea predator, oceanic adventurer-cum-filmmaker Steve Zissou sets out to find and kill the beast he’s dubbed the ‘jaguar shark’. Along the way, though, he has to deal with a prim Brit journalist, a man claiming to be his son, and impending financial ruin.

Saturday 16 August

Gravity (PG) – A movie made for the big screen. Experience the multi award-winning, heart-pounding thriller Gravity out in the open and under the stars and be pulled into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space.
When disaster strikes a seemingly routine mission and the space shuttle is destroyed, two astronauts are left completely alone – tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
