There's a new performance concept in town and it's home-grown right here in Exeter!

JoJo Spinks of Interwoven Productions explains that “It's different from what we've come to expect of performance in a whole range of ways. Not only do we perform in the street but we perform about your street, about the landscape we all share – we grow the stories from the very ground beneath your feet!”

This Half-Term sees a new production from the Heavitree Squilometre Project, celebrating some of Heavitree and Wonford's most ancient and revered trees. The walking tour will be guided by figures from history in a fun, family-friendly event.

And that's another way in which the Squilometre concept is different. This performance tour was made possible by the last. In this circular way each audience suggests the next show and makes it possible by paying their contribution forward. Interwoven don't charge up front for a show, they ask the audience to “pay what you think is right” once they've taken part. Each performance, inside one square kilometre or Squilometre, is spawned by the one before. And around and around it goes…

You could think of the Squilometre concept as the farmers' market of Performance. It's fresh, locally produced and brought right to your streets!
