With her spine tingling vocals you would be excused for thinking we had wrongly described Miss Gabrielle Aplin’s performance at The Great Hall on Monday night.

But rock she did, with her amazing cover of Miley Cyrus’ ‘ Wrecking Ball’ as well as performing many of her own songs with a rock twist.

As well as catering for rock lovers, Gabrielle did not dissapoint those that had come to see her perform her original classical style vocals belting out her gorgeous hit ‘ The Power of Love’ and many other songs from her ‘ English Rain’ album.

The pint sized songstress shared her love of The South West with the crowd of a thousand describing everybody from the region as ‘ nice’. Inbetween performing songs such as ‘ Panic Cord’ and ‘ How do you feel today?’ Gabrielle showed herself to be an easy going young women, even asking hecklers to repeat themselves and breaking song to giggle to some of the shout outs.

Gabrielle also performed her hit ‘ Start of Time’ to the thousand strong crowd, which featured in the last series of hit show ‘ Skins’.

The crowd clearly enjoyed the show, with Gabrielle being brought back to the stage due to repeated requests for encores.

As well as performing her new single ‘ Salvation’ ,Gabrielle left the crowd wanting more with her final performance of ‘Home’.

Gabrielle also had support from classical songstress India Bourne and Cornwall’s own Polly Money.

Gabrielle Aplin showed the crowds of Exeter that she is definetely more than the girl from the John Lewis advert after her performance at The Great Hall last night.

Her album ‘ English Rain’ is available to purchase now.
