Pupils from Starcross Primary School recently took a free train trip on the Riviera Line to visit the Riviera Centre in Torquay.

The trip was organised by the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership in conjunction with First Great Western. The Year 6 children had chosen to visit the wave pool at the Riviera Centre as their leavers’ trip. Having been given a budget for the trip by Starcross Primary School Parents, Teachers and Friends Association, they had been asked to research options, find the cost for each one and then vote for their favourite activity.

St Martin’s CofE Voluntary Aided Primary School, in Cranbrook, has received an ‘outstanding’ status in their recent Church School Inspection (SIAMS - National Society Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools).

Devon schools are celebrating success after being put forward to the finals of a national science competition.

KEVICC (King Edward VI Community College) in Totnes and Tavistock College were selected to go through to the National Science and Engineering Competition in March 2016 in Birmingham following this years Big Bang South West Fair at the University of Exeter.

An Exeter School pupil got curious about Copper and won a national competition.

Middle Fifth pupil Mollie Tettenborn entered the Copper Education Competition, entitled Curious About Copper, and took first prize.

Fifteen-year-old Mollie designed a poster for the Electronics and Communication category which the judges felt was extremely well designed and presented.
