Exeter forest kindergarten is a first

A local Forest School has spent the last few months developing the South West's first Forest School based kindergarten in Exeter.

The new kindergarten will offer 3-5 year olds an incredible opportunity to learn in unique surroundings, embrace nature and make new friends. The kindergarten will be run by qualified, experienced education professionals who are passionate about outdoor learning.

Exeter Forest School was set up over three years ago and in that time has worked with thousands of individuals from toddlers through to adults, providing education days, training and partnering with local schools and organisations to develop their outdoor learning. The kindergarten is the newest addition to this Social Enterprise and has already seen lots of interest from parents and carers.

Chris White, Director and Forest School Leader commented "We grow more and more passionate by the day here at Exeter Forest School. We've heard first hand from parents and education professionals that they have seen the positive benefits that Forest School offers. Our vision has always been to open a kindergarten and to see it coming together is truly amazing! The set up here at Exeter Forest School Kindergarten is magical and probably exactly how you would imagine it to be! We are excited to welcome you all to see what we've created."

Exeter Forest School Kindergarten has been designed to be enjoyed by everyone and Early Years Entitlement Funding (EYEF) is available. The kindergarten follows the EYFS Curriculum but also incorporates child lead play, adventure and nature.

The kindergarten will open on Tuesday 1 September 2015 from 9.00am. Enrolment is available by visiting the website https://www.exeteroutdoors.co.uk/kindergarten/book-online/ and downloading a form. Appointments will need to be arranged to visit the kindergarten o complete the enrolment process and ask any other questions that parents or carers may have.
