Blundell’s School continues to deliver excellent A Level results

Blundell’s School continues to be deliver excellent results at A Level with some very strong results achieved by pupils in both the Upper and Lower Sixth. In the Upper Sixth (Year 13) of 97 pupils, 41% of the results gained were at A*/A with 23 pupils gaining 3 A grades or higher and over two thirds of all grades were between A* and B. The A Level pass rate was 99%. Outstanding year of International Baccalaureate results at Exeter College

Exeter College students are celebrating another outstanding year of International Baccalaureate diploma results.

Four students achieved 40+ points putting them in the top five to ten per cent of students in the entire world – equivalent of five A Levels at A/A*.

The international points average for the IB is currently 30.07 for May 2016 (accurate at the time of printing on August 15th). At Exeter College, the average points score was 32.5. Exeter student duo win national education awards

Two Exeter College students have been crowned winners at a coveted national educational awards in London.

Samuel Guy, from Sampford Peverell, near Tiverton, won Outstanding Sport Student of the Year at the National BTEC Awards, and James Steel, from Crediton, won Outstanding Hospitality and Travel and Tourism Student of the Year, at the National BTEC Awards.

Exeter School pupils, parents and staff are enjoying visiting the Rainbow Rhino at Exeter’s Northcott Theatre.

The life-size juvenile rhino was decorated as part of The Great Big Rhino Project, a mass public art event which aims to raise awareness about conservation. Exeter students explore Exe Estuary

Pupils from St David's Church of England Primary School in Exeter recently took a free train trip on the Exeter – Exmouth Avocet Line to join the Exe Estuary Management Partnership on a visit to the Exmouth Nature Reserve.

The trip was organised by the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership under their “Train trips for schoolchildren” initiative. This aims to introduce more children to rail travel and is run in conjunction with Great Western Railway, who provided free travel for the children and teachers.

Save the Children has today launched a powerful new report laying bare the potentially devastating and lifelong consequences for boys in England who start school significantly trailing girls in basic early language skills.
