Year 11 students picked up their results at QE’s Western Road campus this morning.

Rupert Poole, Principal at QE said, “There was an excellent atmosphere in school today as students came in to collect their results.  They have worked hard on their studies throughout their time in school and online during the various lockdowns.  Students are therefore right to feel proud of their achievements.  I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them and to wish them all the very best for the future.

“The grades the students have received are the product of their perseverance and commitment and were decided through a process that involved teachers using evidence of achievement.  Staff worked closely with each other to ensure that results were checked and moderated to achieve fairness and consistency.

“I would like to add that our Year 11 students have been fantastic.  They have remained positive and focused throughout these last two years of disruption.  They embraced online working in our ‘Virtual School’ and thereby maintained their learning throughout the pandemic.  Now is the time for them to concentrate on their future studies and many of them will be joining our successful 6th Form.  Enrolment day takes place in the Library in College House on Thursday 2nd September between 1.15pm-3.15pm.  Contact the school on 01363 773401 for more information.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff who always work incredibly hard to support our students, and this year particularly so with the demands of online teaching and the awarding process in addition to everything else they do.”

Mr David Harris Head of Year 11 added, "It has been great working with this year group and I am very proud of their achievements.  They have been dedicated and hardworking and have got on really well together as a year group, always taking care to look out for each other.  Evidently, the lockdowns have presented them with challenges but they have met them with great resilience, a core QE value.  I am sure they have a great future ahead of them and I wish them the best of luck”
