This promotion starts on Monday 5 June 2017.

HOW TO ENTER:  Email the answer to the question stating your name, email address and telephone number to: 

One winner will be chosen at random.

Competition is open to all residents of the UK, Channel Islands and Republic of Ireland excluding persons professionally connected to the promotion.

The prizes are as follows: One overnight stay for two people, including dinner and breakfast at the Mercure Exeter Rougemont Hotel, Queen Street, Exeter.

No purchase necessary.

The prize is subject to hotel availability – some dates may not be available for booking.

Travel is not included.

CLOSING DATE: The competition ends on Friday 23 June 2017 at 5pm and any entries made after then will not be included.

The winner will be selected at random from all entries correctly submitted by the closting date stated in accordance with these terms and conditions. Entrants accept that, if they win, the promoter will have the right, without additional payment or permission, to use their name, age, town of residence and likeness for the purposes of announcing the winner of this competition and for related promotional purposes. By entering entrants agree to receive TheExeterDaily newsletter with the e-mail they provide. To opt out of the newsletter participants must write ‘opt out’ in the main body of their e-mail when they enter. Two winners will be selected at random after the closing date. No correspondence will be entered into.

Winners will be announced on TheExeterDaily website and notified by email after the competition has ended. The winner has 48 hours to confirm the prize. In the event a winner cannot be contacted within 48 hours of such notification, then The Exeter Daily  reserves the right to withdraw the prize.

There is no limit on the number of entries per person. However, entrants will only be entitled to win once.

The winner may be required to take part in any publicity accompanying or resulting from this competition.


The prizes are non-transferable and exclude any additional costs and expenses. The winners are responsible for all applicable taxes and expenses not specified in description of the prizes above.

The Exeter Daily competitions are open to all United Kingdom residents aged 18 or over as at the start date, except those who at any time between the start date and the closing date are employees of the promoter, any of its wholly owned subsidiaries or any marketing services agency, handling house or other company involved directly with the administration of this competition, or any member of their households.

The promoter will process your data in accordance with its privacy policy  In addition, the promoter may like to share your information with other companies so that they may send you information about their products and services, by telephone, email and SMS. If you do not agree to your information being shared in this way, please indicate so in your email entry.

GENERAL: The name of the winners may be be published at for one week after closing date. You may want to print a copy of these rules to keep for your reference. Nothing in these terms and conditions will limit the promoter’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for fraud. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
