Vertu MINI Exeter drives support for North Devon Hospice

Vertu MINI Exeter is supporting North Devon Hospice, as part of MINI’s Local MINI Hero initiative, which encourages dealerships to actively support and celebrate their local communities.

As part of this special partnership, Vertu MINI Exeter will be sponsoring and attending two major fundraising events for the hospice this year – its recent Nightwalk, and the North Devon Marathon, which is set to take place on 29th June. Redrow South West supports Macmillan in World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

On Friday 27th September, Redrow Homes’ South West division supported national charity Macmillan Cancer Support in its annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event.

The UK-wide coffee morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event, raising £26,914,382 in 2018 and over £200 million since its conception in 1990.

The housebuilder invited its residents and prospective homebuyers as well as members of the local community to the coffee mornings it hosted across eight of its developments in the South West.

Bark in the dark for homeless pets

If you go down to the woods on Saturday 21 December, be sure to take part in national pet charity Blue Cross’s Bark in the Dark event to help raise money for sick and homeless pets.

The event takes place in Haldon Forrest from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and is open to all the family and their four-legged friends. Registration takes place between 4:00pm and 6:00pm.

The 5k dog walk takes dogs and their owners on a festive guided walk through the forest in the dark of night.

Hillies fly down the home straight for Devon Air Ambulance

Exeter Racecourse will be raising money for the Devon Air Ambulance at its race meeting on Sunday, November 24 and the meeting will kick-off in fine style with the first Dartmoor Hillies race.

Eight ponies bred on Dartmoor will come dashing down the home straight and racegoers will be able to place their bets, with every penny donated to the charity.

Cream teas raise over £1k for air ambulance trusts

RGB Building Supplies raised a fantastic £1,492.68 for Devon and Cornwall’s air ambulance trusts on Friday 13th September during a company-wide Great Cream Tea Day.

The event took place during National Air Ambulance Week, which aims to highlight the life-saving work done by all trusts across the country. In return for a donation, visitors to RGB’s Exeter branch were able to enjoy a delicious scone, cream and jam.

Exeter Chiefs Foundation donates over £200,000 in the last year to Exeter charities

Over £200,000 has been donated to charities and organisations in the Exeter area in the last year, thanks to the Exeter Chiefs Foundation.

Since September 2018, the Foundation has given £223,428 to local organisations, community projects and the Exeter Chiefs Foundation's designated charities.

£64,000 of this was shared with the 20 2018/19 Exeter Chiefs Foundation's designated charities at the Exeter Chiefs Season Kick-off Dinner; funds which have been raised by representatives of the charities through match-day bucket collections and car parking.

Earlier this year Ian Kingsbury visited Hospiscare in Exeter with a cheque for £1388 as part of the freemasons annual giving to hospices throughout England & Wales, this as it turned out was only the beginning.

In 2018 the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) formed a partnership with Hospice UK, to help target support within the palliative care sector with the aim of helping expand vital support for bereaved families and individuals.

WESC Foundation is inviting staff at businesses around Exeter to gather their cleverest colleagues together for a charity pub quiz to help raise funds for blind and partially-sighted children and young adults.

Sponsored by LV=, the Exeter-based charity is hosting another fundraising quiz at its Topsham Road campus on Thursday 17th October 2019 at 7pm. WESC Foundation supports children and young adults with visual impairment. Educated Recruitment are thrilled to announce that at their event on Friday evening they had raised a huge £1063.58p for Children’s Hospice South West through the £50 Challenge.

Escot House has been confirmed as the venue for a fundraising dinner organised by the Red Squirrel South West Project on October 18.

The project is committed to the restoration and protection of red squirrels in the South West of England.

Air Marketing Reign Victorious in Children's Charity Sports Day

Last week, national children’s charity CHICKS challenged local Exeter businesses to compete in their Superstar Games. A first for the charity, the games were held in Princesshay in Exeter City Centre and sponsored by Ashley House Printing, with teams headed up by Smart Estate Agents, Attention Media, KTA, Air Marketing and a mixed team of people from various businesses. The teams went head to head in classic heats of the three-legged race, egg and spoon, obstacle course and a Shrek-themed relay in an effort to raise local awareness and funds for the Devon-based charity.
