This Christmas, M&S Food is putting charity firmly at its heart. In a year when charity funding has declined almost 25%, M&S Food is proud to donate £10,000 to Action for Children charity, which has three children’s centres and a nursery based in Exeter, in recognition of the volunteering efforts of local colleague Dan Smith as part of an overall £2million donation to good causes for its very special Christmas campaign. It’s been a tough year for many, but Alzheimer’s Society supporter and stand-up comedian Jo Brand is determined to help spread some festive cheer.

Jo wants people across the South West – where more than 92,510 people are living with dementia – to pop on a pair of elf ears, pull up their festive tights and shake a leg in some jolly jingle-bell slippers on Elf Day to raise some much-needed smiles and funds, helping Alzheimer’s Society reach as many people as possible affected by dementia, now more than ever.

Kent-based charity Tree of Hope is holding a festive online Bake-along with Bake Off Series 7 finalist Jane Beedle, who also won the Christmas Bake Off special in 2018.

Jane, who lives in Faversham, has supported Tree of Hope for several years with The Cook Book, a Summer bake-along and other fundraising events.

A spectacular drive-through winter wonderland is coming to Exeter’s Westpoint Indoor Arena this Christmas.

Local business, Re:Fuel, will be creating the unique experience for families from all over the South West to enjoy. The company, well known for their “cars and coffee” style events in the South West, has had to close for most of the year due to Covid-19. So, they decided, rather than using the furlough scheme this Christmas, to use their event skills to spread some much-needed Christmas spirit and raise some money for a local charity.
