Amy tackles huge challenge to thank FORCE

Twelve months ago, Amy Martin could barely run at all after a tough regime of cancer treatment.

But on Sunday May 24, she’ll be one of 440 people lining up as part of Team FORCE at Exeter’s Great West Run.

Amy aims to raise £1,000 for FORCE Cancer Charity to say thank you for all the support she has received from them since a diagnosis of breast cancer in late 2023.

A courageous father-of-three from Bradninch is rallying men, women and children in Devon to Stand Up To Cancer this October. Trust therapy staff bowled over by generosity of Exonia Bowling Club

Exonia Bowling Club in Exeter has donated more than £1,000 to support local people with multiple sclerosis.

Club president Kate Caldwell chose the community rehabilitation team at Mardon Neurological Centre as her charity of the year – and members helped to raise £1,105.

Kate has been receiving therapy from the team, which is part of the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust.

She praised the individualised service she had received at the centre and asked for the donation to be used to provide greater support to people with MS.

What an incredible year at the increasingly popular skydiving school located in South West near Honiton.

The weather has been so good to the local adrenaline junkies this summer, that they have decided to give something back.

Jumping from 15,000ft from the UK’s fastest jump plane is no longer a challenge for experienced skydivers but doing the same for charity wearing just underwear is a different story!

The 35 strong team have already raised over £3,000 which is being split between Breast Cancer Care and Prostate Cancer UK.

A mother-of-two from Exeter will take on the race of her life for Hospiscare in October when she completes the York Marathon in memory of her father. 40-year-old Natalie Roberts has been training for her first ever marathon over the past few months and is hoping to not only cross the finish line on 20 October but also to raise money for the charity who looked after her dad in his final days. Princesshay hosts wheelchair relay for Ataxia UK

Princesshay plays host to the first wheelchair relay on Sunday 13 October from 11am in aid of Ataxia UK – the Lord Mayor’s nominated charity for 2013 and 2014. Seven wheelchair users aided by friends and family will take part in the relay.
