Raise money and relax at Hospiscare event
The chance to balance and relax your body will see people flocking to Hospiscare’s flagship store in Exeter this week to attend a reflexology event.
The event will run from 11am to 3pm on Friday, November 8 and will give people the chance to try out the complimentary therapy for just £5.
A team of qualified therapists will be on hand to give 15 minute taster sessions at the event, working on reflex points in the feet to balance and relax.
The event has been organised by Hospiscare Sales Assistant Claire Richards, who is also a practicing reflexologist.
Claire said: “Reflexology is a complimentary therapy. There are reflex points in the feet, hands and ears, and by working on these points it can help the body to become more balanced and help to ease areas of congestion.
“It’s a very relaxing treatment, but also for general well-being and a positive outlook it’s really good.”
Staff at the Fore Street shop have been saving all donations of pampering products they have received recently, and will be running a tombola on the day which will add to the total amount raised for the local charity.
Claire said: “I recently qualified as a reflexologist and it was always my intention to incorporate this in to my role here at Hospiscare. In the short-term, I realised that I could easily make a contribution to Hospiscare by holding a fundraising event in the store.
“We’re hoping lots of people will come to the event. The therapists are members of the Devon Group of the Association of Reflexologists, and will all be lined up in the shop window on Friday. There’s no lengthy consultation process, just come along and try it.
“People do get embarrassed about their feet but I love feet. If you’ve never tried it before have a go. That’s what these type of events are for; to get a taster. It’s just a great way to try out a new therapy”.
The reflexology event runs from 11am to 3pm on Friday November 8, at the Hospiscare shop, Fore Street, Exeter.
