Devon charities announced as partners for huge weekend of live music

Four Devon-based charities have been selected to be official partners for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham runs for four nights from Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28, featuring headline shows from vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims, seven-time GRAMMY winner Alanis Morissette and global superstar Lewis Capaldi.

Each night will see a local charity given the opportunity to have a team of fundraisers on site and for 2026 Live At Powderham will support Devon-based charities who make a big impact in the communities they serve....

A mother of two from Exeter has organised a 5k buggy push through Exeter to raise money for mothers around the world this Saturday, 1 March, at 2pm.

Sarah Merson who is 28 and from Exeter and her friend 25-year-old Jess Reeman from Collumpton are leading the 5k buggy push through Exeter with other parents and families to raise money for Oxfam's Motherhood appeal which celebrates mums around the world. Renowned wine expert Susy Atkins is joining forces with Honiton’s Deer Park Hotel to lead a taste tour of South America – and all to support local charity Hospiscare’s plans to build a new East Devon Day Hospice.

Hospiscare rugby day out set to be best ever

Rugby players, local businesses and even an otter have come together to support what is expected to be Hospiscare’s best ever Men’s Walk this March.

The rugby day out, taking place on Saturday March 15, will include new additions along the 10k route to keep the walkers both entertained and refreshed.

Bandanas for brain tumours

Members of the public, schools, clubs, pubs and workplaces across Devon are being asked to show their support for brain tumour patients and their families on Friday 7 March, Bandanas for Brain Tumours Day.

By wearing a bandana and donating £1 or more to the South West's brain tumour charity Hammer Out, people can help fund its Devon support group which meets monthly in Exeter and enable the charity to offer vital support to those in the region facing a brain tumour diagnosis.

An Exeter local has come up with a unique way of raising awareness of what Down Syndrome is and what it means to have the condition as part of World Down Syndrome Day.

Furniture Village raises vital funds for Cancer Charity

Furniture Village stores, including the Exeter branch, have worked together to raise over £1,700 for a blood cancer charity.

In 2013 all fourty branches helped to raise vital funds for charity by putting sofa shaped collection boxes in their stores refreshment areas.

The funds donated by customers whilst enjoying a tea or coffee helped the company raise a staggering £1,714 for the Anthony Nolan Register.

The Anthony Nolan Register enables those who need a blood stem cell or bone marrow transplant to find matching donors.

Choir going La La for new East Devon Day Hospice

An evening of song and laughter will take place in Exmouth later this month, when more than 70 choir members take to the stage in aid of Hospiscare’s East Devon Day Hospice Appeal.

The La La Choirs and Budleigh Salterton’s Ukulele Strumming Club will come together to provide the music at the fundraising concert being held on Saturday 22 February at Exmouth Community College.
