Devon charities announced as partners for huge weekend of live music

Four Devon-based charities have been selected to be official partners for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham runs for four nights from Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28, featuring headline shows from vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims, seven-time GRAMMY winner Alanis Morissette and global superstar Lewis Capaldi.

Each night will see a local charity given the opportunity to have a team of fundraisers on site and for 2026 Live At Powderham will support Devon-based charities who make a big impact in the communities they serve....

With warmer weather, lighter evenings and six weeks until Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life in Exeter, Devon women are being urged to put a spring in their step by signing up to the 5k or new 10k event.

Taking part in Race for Life at Westpoint Arena is a great way for women of all shapes and sizes to enjoy the outdoors and get a little more active as they prepare for their event.

A thousand rainbows raise £48,000 for CHSW

Exeter’s first ever Rainbow Run on Sunday (8 June) was a resounding success.

This crazy, fun event was raising money for the Children’s Hospice South West and 1,000 participants raised an astonishing £48,000 for the charity, which has three children’s hospices in North Devon, Cornwall and North Somerset.

Held at the Exeter Racecourse, this is the first time that the Rainbow Run has taken place in Devon.

Gardeners across Topsham have been planting, weeding and mowing their gardens in preparation for Hospiscare’s Open Gardens Programme 2014.

Four people in Topsham are opening their gardens for the public to view this summer with all proceeds being donated to local end of life charity Hospiscare.

The new lord Mayor of Exeter has said he will use his to term to help raise money for the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF). The new Lord Mayor of Exeter Percy Prowse, who was elected at last night’sAnnual General Meeting, explained why he chose to support ELF as the mayor’s charity. Big Walk 2014 hailed a success

Over £2,000 has been added to the Exeter Foundation coffers following the highly successful Big Walk 2014 held at the weekend.

Helping to raise vital funds for theFoundation, which looks to support a minimum of 20 local charities and organisations, the 84 walkers proudly took up the challenge of working their way around the picturesque 10-mile course that started and finished at Sandy Park, home to the Exeter Chiefs rugby team.

Lapford gardens open for Air Ambulance

Lapford & District Horticultural Society open their gardens on the 28 and 29 of June in aid of Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

Twelve unique parish gardens can be viewed including the school and allotments. Nine gardens are located in the village, with three about a mile away.

Charities benefit from Exeter Business Club

Four local charities are to benefit from donations by members of Exeter Business Club.

The club decided to split £2,000 equally between four Exeter-based charities, Devon In Sight, St Loyes Foundation, Friends of Buburi and Honeylands Children’s Charity.

A charitable fund in the memory a Devon woman killed in a car crash while on a round-the-world cycle challenge has passed its £10,000 target. Friends and family of Sharon Bridgman raised more than £11,500 in her memory after she was struck and killed in by a car in Bolivia in April.
