Exeter Deaf Academy is recruiting volunteers to take part in a one-off awareness day in Exeter and surrounding areas.

The aim of the day will be to place Deaf Academy collection boxes in various locations throughout the City in order to raise both awareness and vital funds for an essential local charity.

Exeter resident Thomas James is hoping to raise £1,750 for mental health charity Mind by taking part in this years iconic London Marathon.

Thomas said: "In January of last year I was struggling with my own mental health. Like most people I never thought that type of thing would happen to me.
