On Sunday 18th October, hundreds of runners and spectators will flood to Exeter city centre to support the 31st annual Great West Run.

With local businesses and residents coming together to support those taking on the challenge, many local charities are benefiting from participants raising money for good causes. YMCA Exeter is one of those charities.

The FORCE Cancer Charity Shop in Heavitree’s Fore Street has again been named the best in the country.

It’s won the award as the most profitable in its category from the Charity Retail Association.

The news comes as FORCE announces that the shop is set to close at the end of August for approximately 10 weeks.

An Exeter opticians is hosting a week-long fundraising event to raise vital funds for the Exeter Multiple Sclerosis Society. From Monday 27 July staff at Specsavers, located at 247 High Street, will be wearing t-shirts and distributing leaflets to raise awareness of the condition. The team will be encouraging local residents to dig deep and raise as much as possible for the charity.
